Erwin R. Kirsch of Boynton Beach, FL/Paramus, NJ
The beloved patriarch of the Kirsch family passed away in Boynton Beach, at the age of 91, on
Tuesday, October 6 th .
Son of Else and Dr. Samuel Kirsch, Erwin was born in Czechoslovakia, came to the US in
1939 and was raised in Washington Heights, NY. He graduated from Stuyvesant High
School and went on to New York University to earn his Bachelors and Master's Degrees in
mechanical/industrial engineering. Soon after he met the love of his life, Leni Strass. They
were married for 64 years. They raised their two daughters in Paramus, NJ.
Erwin was an active member of JCC Paramus, ASME Organization, and The Mended Hearts. He
was adored by his family and his many friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, and
generosity. He is survived by his wife Leni Kirsch, daughters Deborah Schwartz and Laura
Saferstein and son in law Dr. Mitchell Saferstein, his grandchildren, Jason and Jen Schwartz,
Zachary and Sarah Schwartz, Nicole and Mark Silver, Brent Saferstein, and Carly Saferstein as
well as his great grandchildren Mason Schwartz and Austin Silver.
His family requests that any donations be made to the JCC Paramus, Congregation Beth Tikvah,
