Irwin Percelay Hirshoren, 1932 - 2019

Irwin Percelay Hirshoren, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2019 at 86 years of age. Born June 23rd, 1932 and raised in Newark New Jersey, Irwin was the older son to his younger sister Merle, now Merle Chinich, both born to David and Esther Hirshoren. Irwin graduated Weequahic High School in Newark and went to work in sales of fine men's clothes. He spent most of his career as sales manager of Wallach's in Paramus New Jersey.
Irwin was a sweet and loving man to all who knew him. A very kind and caring man, he was the consummate gentleman. He will be missed greatly by his many friends and family who loved him.
Irwin married Harriet Butterfass, a biology school teacher from New Milford, NJ. They had one son, Michael Hirshoren, a digital media executive now living in Manhattan. They had been married for fifty-two years living happily in Oakland, New Jersey.
Irwin is celebrated by his wife Harriet, his son Michael and daughter in law Marissa, and two grandchildren, Wyatt and Noah, and his sister Merle Chinich.
There will be a brief funeral service on Sunday January 13th at 2:30 PM, at Robert Schoem's Chapel. After the service, family and friends will be hosted back at the Hirshoren home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
