Adele Males, 89, of Emerson, NJ passed away peacefully in her home on November 22, 2014. Adele was born in Scranton, PA in 1925 to Irene and Joseph Luers, and pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth Louis Males, and her brothers Robert and Paul.
Adele attended Temple University and moved to NYC, where she met her husband, Kenneth, and to whom she remained married for 31 years until his passing in 1985. In 1988, Adele began a term of dedicated volunteer service to the Bergen JCC of Washington Township and its senior department.
During her 25 years of involvement with the JCC, Adele served variously as a board member and as an assistant to whatever was needed to get the job done for “her seniors.” The JCC named her a lifetime Golden Senior. Adele was a member of Temple Emanuel of Woodcliff Lake and its Sisterhood organization for over 50 years.
Adele is survived by her cherished children; Howard Males of Chicago, Illinois, his wife Breckie Church, Julia Males of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Michael Males, of Oradell, New Jersey, and his wife Carol Males. She has four beloved grandchildren, Kenny, Skylar, Emily, and Lauren. Adele also leaves her two nieces Melissa Kettrick and Danielle Ondeck, and her nephew, Robert Rubin.
The funeral service will take place on Monday November, 24 at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel in Paramus, NJ at 10 AM followed by a graveside ceremony at Beth-El Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. Donations may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
